the big day is almost here…

Okay, so I didn’t hold up my end of the bargain here…this wasn’t exactly an updated blog, but I doubt many people read it anyway 😉

This may be my last entry before the big day! Ryan and I cannot believe it is so close. We are so excited and can’t wait to share our day with everyone. Thank you for all your love and support, we truly appreciate everything that everyone has done for us. We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends.

The last of the details are being ironed out, and soon everyone will be dancing the night away in the beautiful Arts Ballroom! We hope everyone enjoys their weekend as much as we know we will, it is going to fly by but I am going to remember every minute of it.

welcome to our website!

I am so happy to announce the official launch of our wedding website today, February 1, 2012! This site has been designed and re-designed until it was perfect, so I hope everyone enjoys their visit!

The result of my visit to the veil shop in Philly with my mom was pretty successful…I found the perfect comb and came to the conclusion that ordering my veil from my original source was my best option. It came about 2 weeks ago and I LOVE it! So excited, I think it will go great with my dress. And speaking of my dress, I got a surprise phone call last week that it is already in! I only ordered it in September and I was told it could take 9 months to come in, so I was really shocked to find out that it had already come in! I am hoping to try it on in a week or so when I go home so I can see how the veil really looks with it. A few other tidbits have been squared away, bridesmaid dresses are picked out, and save the dates are underway so they should be arriving soon to a mailbox near you!

Ryan’s family is coming out to New Jersey next weekend and my mom and I are going dress shopping for mother of the bride and groom dresses. I also have another makeup trial on the 12th. The last one didn’t turn out as I had hoped so maybe I will have better luck this time.

Room blocks are booking fast, we are in the process of adding more rooms to the Bellevue block but there is still plenty of room over at the Doubletree too!

The time is starting to fly by…it’s already February!

Happy New Year everyone! Ryan and I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday. Now it is back to the grind!

Saturday morning before the New Years festivities began, my mom and I rode into Philadelphia to check out a bridal shop on 4th Street in search of my veil and a comb. The shop specializes in combs and veils only so the perfect hair accessories HAD to be there for me. At first glance I didn’t think there would be anything I really liked after looking around a bit, but she had some beautiful pieces tucked away. She pulled out piece after piece to show me after I had decided what kind of veil I wanted, and after a few test combs, I’d found the one! I left the store without it because I wanted to go home and look online one more time to be 100% sure. I looked for hours at other combs but none compared to that one so that was it! I found the veil I wanted for a lot less online than the lady could get it for me, so I am in the process of ordering that as well. I’m so excited, my look is coming together!

Next weekend we are making the trek back to Jersey so a couple of my girls can try on bridesmaid dresses to help decide on the final style and hopefully we will be putting that order in by the end of this month. I also have a makeup trial next Saturday, so that will be fun too. Lots going on, with LOTS more to do!

I do want to note that MANY of our hotel rooms have booked already, so if you are planning to stay over the night of the wedding we highly recommend you make your way over to the hotels and accommodations page. There are a few rooms left in the blocks at the Hyatt and the Doubletree, or if you prefer to stay at another hotel there are some wonderful suggestions listed on that page as well. Hi! This is just an introduction post and for me to try out this blogging program, but welcome to my wedding journal! This is where you will find my thoughts, ideas, wishes, successes, and woes of planning our wedding. Be sure to check back because I will be posting all kinds of things that I am sure to want an opinion! Planning is in full swing and we have secured our church, venue, hotels, band, florals, photographer, and videographer. And most importantly, I have found my dress! 🙂 But this website is one thing I have been really excited to get up and running since we are so excited to share the details and thoughts for the big day. Living in Virginia has made it really hard to shop for things with my mom for the wedding, so whenever I get a weekend where we are visiting in New Jersey and my mom has a Saturday off (very rare occurrence) I get very excited to go out and shop for bridal accessories or meet with vendors. New Years Eve weekend my mom and I are going to a veil/headpiece store in Philadelphia to look for my veil and some accessories. This store is my last hope since I have looked everywhere for a veil I love, so if they don’t have something on Saturday I have my heart set on one I saw online. I just hate to buy something online if I can’t return it. Then, on January 8 I finally get to meet with a few bridesmaids so they can try on dresses. So excited! Stay tuned!
